About

I am an anthropologist with 20+ years of experience using qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore and address human centered questions from a community engaged position. I specialize in creating media-based outcomes incorporating ethnographic methodologies including audio/visual data collection, interviewing, surveys, participant observation, focus groups, card sorting, and other methods. I am adept at analyzing narrative, discursive, and corpus generated language, and triangulating data from multiple streams to craft a compelling and collaborative representation.

I have a PhD in anthropology from the University of Arizona and was an Associate Professor at Western Kentucky University. I have conducted field research in numerous communities and locations across the globe, primarily in the US and the Netherlands. These research endeavors and community partnerships include the National Park Service, food banks, indigenous tribes, public libraries, small-scale meat processors, refugee organizations, and urban farms.
